Week 9 Part 1: Human Interest

Writing a Blog post with human interest can appeal to peoples emotions through the experiences they share. Adding a personal touch to a post on a blog makes sense when you are trying to connect to your audience and share more than a post with them, an emotion. Adding this emotional touch will cause your audience to feel more connected to your page compared to other pages. Continuing to share these personal experiences with your audience will guarantee you a fan base that is growing with your emotions. A personal touch should not be added to a post if you are just trying to make money, do not tap into others emotions because you would like to be noticed.

Week 8 Part 2: Hashtags and Instagram

The hashtags I decided to go with are #haveabeer, #memories, #vista, #localbeer, #Sundayfunday, #beerwithfriends, #grababud, #localmusic, and #craftingmelodies. The way I decided on these hashtags was based on the photos themselves, the day I posted them and based on the description. I decided to add most of my posts from afternoon to midnight. Afternoons seemed to be more effective than midnight because most  people are just starting to jump on to their Instagram  for the night opposed to when it is too late. I also did chose to do one hashtag specific to my business being #craftingmelodies, I will see how beneficial that is when I  continue to use it. I learned I need to chose the times I post my photos more carefully  and do not post anything after  8 pm.

Week 8 Part 1: Reviewing Businesses who use Instagram

Guadalupe Brewery     This brewery originated in Carlsbad in 2015, so that is where their Instagram posts begin. I feel like they are using their Instagram account productively by posting certain items on their menus as well as mentioning events they will be having. Through their correct way of using Instagram by posting once a day or at the very least once a month they have acquired 1153 followers for their page. The posts that get the most likes and comments are the ones that are videos and include their beer in the photo. Some of the hashtags I believe will be beneficial to my own posts on my Instagram would be, #drinklocal, #vistabeer, #eatlocal and #downtownvista. Vista Village Pub     This is not a brewery it is more of a bar, however I chose this business because it sells alcohol and hosts its own events. I believe they are using their Instagram account correctly by posting their menu specials as well as events that are going...

Week 7: Get Visual

Business and Instagram     A variety of business use Instagram to promote or connect with their customers. Restaurants and retail stores use Instagram to advertise sales or promote new products to their followers. While other businesses such as the National Football League (NFL) use Instagram to connect to their customers. Both these ways are beneficial because it keeps customers in tune to the business and wanting more as far as learning what is new with the business. Week 6: Facebook Stategy

Image
Businesses I liked: Black Plague Brewing Stone Brewing Belching Beaver Vista Village Pub Oceanside Brewing Company Smittys Downtown Standards Record Store The list above are all the businesses I chose to like as my page, Crafting Melodies Brewery. I chose these businesses because as you can see most are breweries and their followers could potentially follow my page. Their followers would follow my page because all the brewery pages have potentially the same content as mine. I also decided to follow Standards Record Store because I feel like their followers and content aligns with my page as well. I can use this feature on Facebook to grow my business by connecting to followers that would like to follow the same content as the pages they follow. I decided to make 2 posts. One was posted on Thursday mentioning "Thirsty Thursday", I chose to make this post because it is a sort of inside joke were it would help connect more with my audience who likes to drink crafted...

Week 5: Setting up a Facebook Business page for Crafting Melodies brewery

Post Reach and Post Engagement     Post reach is the number of people who see a certain post on your page, while post engagement is are all actions that people take involving your ads while they are on Facebook. Facebook post reach is calculated by dividing the average number of users who see your post by the average number of total likes you get on your page. Therefore, post reach in my own words would be the number of people who see your post while active on their Facebook. Post engagement is calculated by the number of users who are engaged in your post. Meaning that post engagement would be user who physically interact with your post by giving them likes, shares and comments; while, post reach is the people who see your post after you have put it on your profile. I believe it is important to know both in order to be able to see where you need to improve. If your posts are getting a lot of likes and shares and they are being seen by a lot of differ...

Week 4 Post 2: Target Audience for Crafting Melodies Brewery

This blog is being made in order to consider what target audience will be explored when starting the fictitious business, Crafting Melodies brewery. The target audience for this business will be people who enjoy music due to the live performances the company will have. Artists who would like the opportunity to get more known or would like practice performing on a stage. Fans of the artist who will be given the opportunity to perform at the brewery. Any one 21 + that enjoys craft beers. People who enjoy a variety of different beers in tap. Millennials who want a place to hang out with friends. My demographic will most like be males because according to the article " Shifting Demographics Among Craft Drinkers ", they are the ones that tend to drink the most consistently throughout the years. Although the same article states that data from a 2015 Harris poll found that most craft drinkers are white, I will try to keep it as diverse as possible by having different kinds of music ...
